Inherit Carbon Solutions raises seed round to accelerate carbon removal

Oslo, Norway - Jan 22, 2024 – Inherit today announced an oversubscribed investment round with Sumitomo Corporation as lead investor. The round is completed with new investors Farvatn, Momentum, and Arkwright X alongside existing investors Equinor Ventures and Stratel Ventures.

Inherit aims to build a carbon removal industry of high-quality permanent solutions. To get there, we are starting with the lowest hanging fruit of carbon removal, CO2 arising from organic waste.

Inherit is partnering with Sumitomo Corporation to accelerate the path towards a net negative world. Sumitomo Corporation, with their global reach, industry footprint and deep domain expertise is the perfect partner for Inherit to build on the already strong foundation.

About Inherit Carbon Solutions

Carbon removal doesn’t have to be energy intensive or to compete with arable land to grow food. It also doesn’t have to be at a small scale. We can remove gigatons of CO₂ and store it for 1000+ years. Our co-founders, Kaja and Mike, met while assessing opportunities for Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS) from biomethane production. They discovered that the technology is here and began working to implement the commercialization and implementation.
